Located in southeastern Rensselaer County, the Nassau Free Library is a small association library chartered to serve the 4,800 residents of the Town of Nassau. The original structure is a historic federal style building that was constructed in 1835.

The library provides access to books, audio books, videos, CDs and computers. Through membership in the Upper Hudson Library System, the Nassau Library can give its patrons the right to use the resources of all the public libraries in Albany and Rensselaer Counties. In addition, visitors can research the Ralph Phillips Genealogical Collection which contains historical information about hundreds of families from Nassau and Schodack.
