Kristine will have a  bake sale on December 13th between the hours of 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m. Proceeds will be used for children’s programs such as storytime. If you would care to donate baked goods,  please call the library at 766-2715.

During the last two weeks in November, customers of the Nassau Library who owe late fees may clear their records by bringing donations of canned goods and other non-perishable items to the library.  These donations will be given to the Nassau Resource Center for distribution to families who need assistance.  As the holidays approach, this is an excellent way to reach out to your community!

During the months of November and December, Joyce Pruett, a retired career counselor, will offer her services at the Nassau Library to anyone currently seeking employment.  Joyce will work with individuals in the following areas: searching for the right job, creating a dynamic resume, and learning effective “cold calling” and interviewing skills.  She will be available at the library on Wednesdays at noon, but registration is required.  To make an appointment for this free service, call the library at 766-2715.  No matter what your educational level, Joyce will help you learn to market yourself and get the job you want.  This project is made possible by funds from an Outreach Grant provided by the Upper Hudson Library System.

At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2nd, Book Group #2 will discuss Barbara Kingsolver’s Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.  Members will bring snacks to share that are made from locally grown foods.  As always new readers are welcome.  Copies of the book are on reserve at the circulation desk.
