The Nassau Free Library will sponsor a 3rd winter concert at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 14th, at Grace United Methodist Church.  The program will feature REVISIONS, a Barbershop Quartet.  These performers sing a wide range of music, from big band standards of the 30’s and 40’s to doo-wop of the 50’s and 60’s, to Broadway favorites and show tunes, all in four part, a cappella close harmony.

This concert is made possible in part by COMMUNITY ART$GRANTS, a program funded through the state and local partnership program of the New York State Council on the Arts and the Art Center of the Capital Region.  For more information, please call 766-2715.

Beginning January 15th, we will be accepting donations for our February booksale. We are looking for clean, gently used items. Please do not donate encyclopedias or Reader’s Digest condensed books. The sale will take place on February 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our beautiful king-sized quilt that was donated by the Eastside Quilters will be raffled at the end of the sale.

On Monday, January 11th at 6:30 p.m., choreographer Ellen Sinopoli and storyteller Bairbre McCarthy will present a free one-hour participatory program for families which incorporates storytelling, picture books and creative movement. It will take place in the community room of the library. Please call 766-2715 to register.

  Priscilla Herdman is a singer’s singer and one of the most admired interpreters of contemporary folk music.  Audiences know her as an extraordinary song finder and an eloquent performer.  They come to hear her sing and to sing with her.  They are embraced by her warm and powerful performance.  She has performed nationally for more than thirty years and recently released her 13^th CD, Into The Stars.  Her previous albums include the highly acclaimed releases The Road Home and Forever & Always, three award winning family collections: Stardreamer, Daydreamer and Moondreamer and three trio albums with friends Anne Hills and Cindy Mangsen.  She will be the featured performer at the 2nd 2010 winter concert sponsored by the Nassau Library.  This free program will take place at Grace United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 21st.

On Feb. 24th @ 4:00 P.M., the movie  Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will be shown. This movie is rated PG-13. Free popcorn and beverages will be served. This movie is directed toward the teen audience.
