OPEN MIC NIGHT & COFFEE HOUSE

Semi-Acoustic Open Mic Night returns for its second season! Calling all musicians, poets, raconteurs, and comedians! Join us for Rensselaer County’s most eclectic open mic. Please RSVP in advance at 518-766-2715 or at the library check out desk. Walk ins are welcome but subject to time constraints. Sign up begins at 5:45. Performers should be prepared for a 10-15 minute set. Electric instruments (guitar, keyboard, etc with amp) may be played at acoustic levels with prior approval of the venue host @ 518-766-4244 or gpat12123@yahoo.com.

**New this season: minimum age is 12, however, the 6-6:30pm time period, if needed, will be available to performers under the age of 12 who accompanied by an adult. Please call in advance.

Refreshments will be available. Be tuned and ready to go!

 

SEED LIBRARY IS NOW OPEN!

The Nassau Free Library Seed Library is now open for business! The Seed Library will be available for community members at the Nassau Free Library. The library is designed to give anyone interested in organic gardening, seeds to start. Do you have extra seeds to share? Organic Seed donations of packets labeled 2019 would be greatly appreciated.  All that is required to acquire 5 free packets of seeds is a library card!

Ancestry.com Now at Nassau Free Library

The Nassau Free Library is pleased to announce library patrons can now access the noted family history research site Ancestry.com for free at the Library. Through arrangements with the provider and the Upper Hudson Library System, a library version of the program can be accessed using either library computers or personal laptops with Wi-Fi capability within Library confines.

Library Board member and Nassau Village Historian Kurt Vincent will offer assistance for beginners new to Ancestry by appointment.
